The Great Outdoors
Going for a Walk in the Woods by Alain
Walking in the woods is one of my favorite activities, and I would like to do it anytime I have the occasion.
Nature is something that makes me feel thoughtful, and, while walking in the woods, I realize all the time that world is wonderful, and life is precious. I can see, each time I can visit the woods, new plants or news animals. Who grew it? How does it live? What does it bring to the nature- especially to the humans?- too many questions in my mind that lead to ask my self about the sense and the purpose of my life.
Also, it makes me feel good. I can breath a fresh and clean air relaxing me. I can clean my mind from stress and other mental overload while seeing natural things, or hearing birds’ songs. As you can see, I like nature and walking in the woods is too good for me.

But you have to know that swimming is not allowed. The park is opened from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m and has facilities like bathrooms, parking, pedestal grills and picnic tables. Pets are allowed into the park like picnic areas and hiking trail but they have to use a leash. Gillette Castle State Park By Janine
Address:
67 River Road
East Haddam, CT 06423
Gillette Castle is an interesting place to visit because it has beautiful architecture, great river views, and ample parking. There are wide open green spaces and colorful plants,a large pond just before the castle where you can stop and have a picnic, or to take pictures beside an incredibly beautiful stone bridge. As you approach the castle, the architecture stands out. It's situated wonderfully along the banks of the river. You can visit the castle inside and learn about the story of William Gillette, and you can take pictures inside without using a flash. Also you can take a ferry across the CT. River. The view of the castle from the river is superb and makes it all the better. There is not much hiking, but a very scenic view.
Conclusion: It's a great park to visit with family, friends and for people of all ages. It has good paths and access with great views. Gillette Castle is a must see if you're visiting Central Connecticut.

Rocky Neck State Park By Maggie
Address:
Rocky Neck State Park
244 W Main St
Niantic, CT 06357-1015
Rocky Neck is a good place to spend time with friends and family. The park has many options:
- CAMPING
- PICNICKING
- HIKING
- SALTWATER FISHING
- SALTWATER SWIMMING.
The park parking lot is huge and can accommodate many cars. Picnic places have facilities such as grills, benches, and tables. Kids have a lot of space to play with the ball, run and enjoy time with family. If you like fresh air, sand under your feet, pure water, silence then it’s good place to rest and relax. For me it’s an amazing place because I like sun and swimming in the ocean. Also, I prefer walking along the seashore. It’s nice exercise for the body and soul.

Pierson Park in Cromwell by Raquel
I really like this place. If you have kids, there is a lot of equipment for there where they can play different games such as soccer, basketball, football, ride a bike, etc. In the meantime parents can walk, talk, eat an ice cream, read or just be there because it’s a safe place. Pierson Park is on Main Street in Cromwell.
