Friday March 1, 2013
1. Read about paragraph writing and read the examples.
2. Write 1 paragraph
Topic: Write about one activity you love to do and explain why. This can be something you do every day or every month. It can be something you like to do, but can't do often because you don't have time. It can also be something you did in the past, but don't do now.
Here is an example from me:
Painting Every Day
This month I am trying to paint everyday. So far it has been a positive experience. First of all, when I paint, I feel relaxed. I forget about life's little problems and I simply focus on the task I am doing. This helps me to stay in the present moment. Also, painting everyday has made me look at things differently. For example, I notice how the light touches objects, and I pay attention to the colors and shapes of things that I barely paid attention to in the past. Lastly, doing something every day makes something become a habit. Now, it is normal and familiar to sit down and paint. The more I do it, the more I can improve. Painting is something I have always wanted to do, and I hope I will continue this hobby in the future.
When you write, pay attention to the verb tenses you need to use. Will your paragraph be mostly in the present or the past?
You should save this paragraph, put your name on it, and print it.
You have until 11:00 to finish this.
3. We will listen to the TED talk Try Something New for 30 Days together.
